“Aleph Clubs” (Alpha Courses)

It is well known that “Aleph” is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and the language of the Torah (the five books of Moses), one of the youngest of the ancient languages spoken today. However, in the setting of our “Return to Zion” congregation, this word has acquired a completely different meaning.

“Aleph Clubs” (Alpha Courses) are certainly not new. The meetings, started in the late 1970s, involved informal discussions during which people with different views enjoyed a tasty meal, pleasant music, and discussions of deep and eternal topics.

Today the meetings are widely spread throughout the world. However, not all countries have a similar culture and perception. The Crusades, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and immature missionary work, along with the anti-Christian propaganda of orthodox Judaism, unfortunately, put the name Yeshua (Jesus) on the “blacklist” for the Jewish people, and any reasoning about His teachings has often encountered an “allergic” reaction from Jewish listeners.

This is why our team started a serious rethinking of this popular format, relying on rich developments in  Messianic Judaism, as well as on the unlimited and sacrificial enthusiasm of volunteers. It was decided to create a program capable of disclosing the plan of God, in the context of the Messianic teaching in the Torah, considering the cultural aspects of evangelism in Israel. Relying on facts from popular culture, and using the principles of apologetics, the participants of the “Aleph Club” here in Haifa set off on a virtual journey through the history of the Jewish people, from the book of Genesis to the present day.

In addition to discussions in our congregation’s facility, the club’s program includes an educational trip on June 21—an excursion in the footsteps of the patriarchs, which will help the participants visualize the stages of history and go to its main page, meeting with the cross of Calvary and the Sacrifice that opens for all of us the gates to the kingdom of the Most High.
Such programs, of course, require support, funds and above all, spiritual protection. We invite you to become partners with this vision of our “Return to Zion” Messianic Jewish congregation.  We hope that this project will be fruitful and produce good results for the Kingdom of our Messiah!
