PESACH 5784 REFLECTIONS

“Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.  “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:4 – 9

Shalom Dear Friends of Return to Zion!
As you know a few days ago Iran attacked Israel. Many people say that from the day of its foundation Israel carries out wars and people got used to them. But today there is a great number of new immigrants from Russia and Ukraine who fled the war which they were involved in. They reacted differently. Many of them were frightened and were stricken with panic. Some tried to look calm but still were very scared because they had never experienced war. And it is heartbreaking to see how people suffer.

We believe this is a time when God can and will use us, those people who are called to serve Him. It’s not easy for us to be courageous and strong but we stand on the promise of our Almighty Heavenly Father Who gave this Land to Israeli people as an inheritance. But there is a condition for the promise to be realized: to obey the Heavenly Father, to hope and rely on Him only.

Please, pray for all the people of Israel to turn to God and to love Him, and to obey Him, and to realize that He is the only Savior of Israel from the day of our Forefathers.

Despite the situation all Messianic believers will celebrate the approaching Pesach. It’s time for us to reflect again on the salvation of our nation from slavery. It was the only unique miracle of escape of 2 million people in the history of mankind. It could be done only by our Almighty Loving and Faithful Father. We believe that He is the same and can perform such a miracle today.

In our Congregation we are making preparations for this very important Feast. We want other people who are not yet familiar with it to participate in it. As a part of our ministry to new immigrants we’ll organize a small Pesach celebration for them. We want them to have the right sight of the history of Pesach. We also want them to know why God has formed and chosen the nation of Israel. And, of course, no holiday is complete without a light treat.

We have also made small holiday gifts for elderly people, and we’ll present them together with hot food. Among the new immigrants whom we serve there are large families and families with only one parent. They will also get special holiday food sets.

This is what we are doing now.
God bless you!
