HTI was established in 2009 through a joint effort of five Messianic congregations in Haifa. HTI’s vision is to strengthen the Russian-speaking Messianic body in Israel and to train future Messianic leaders. Since mid-July 2011, Return to Zion has taken more responsibility for running the institute. The majority of the students come from Russian-speaking Messianic congregations in the Greater Haifa area, and there are online students from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the U.S. Each course attracts from 25 to 50 students – either leaders of Messianic congregations or prospective future leaders.
